NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Jared Leto sure knows how to execute a publicity stunt -- by turning it into actual stuntwork.

The Oscar-winning actor and frontman for Thirty Seconds to Mars, 51, climbed the Empire State Building early Thursday morning to celebrate the band's 2024 Seasons world tour -- its first headline tour in five years -- which kicks off March 15 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

"The building is a testament of all the things that can be done in the world if we put our minds to it,” Leto said in a statement, "which is largely the inspiration behind our most recent album, ‘It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day.’”

After he completed the climb, he appeared on the "Today" show, saying. ""I made it. I’m alive. I made it to the top, and I was just saying, I saw my mother in the window of the 80th floor, that was a nice surprise. My mom came to visit."

"It was in celebration of the tour and, you know, doing those things that you aspire to do," he said.

Leto added on the "Today" show the climb was "incredible" but "challenging," while showing off a cut and bloody fingers.
