(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Sandwich chain Jimmy John's is looking to celebrate the upcoming 4/20, or April 20, holiday that recreational cannabis enthusiasts celebrate.

The fast-food player has launched a “Deliciously Dope Dime Bag” for people who are feeling a might peckish. The combo meal features a smoked ham sandwich with jalapeño ranch dressing and “extra herbs,” plus chips, a pickle spear and a fudge brownie.

“Jimmy John’s is jumping in with both feet – I will give them a lot of credit for that,” says restaurant industry analyst Izzy Kharasch of Hospitality Works in Chicago.

“Dime Bag,” of course, is parlance for a quantity of marijuana that once was bought for $10. With many states, including Illinois, making recreational cannabis legal for adults, the promotion shouldn’t be all that surprising. But Kharasch says some people may be turned off by all the marijuana innuendo.

“Other companies have done some lighter things, but Jimmy John’s, by calling it the ‘dime bag’ promotion, is really pushing this forward,” he said.

While supplies last, some purchasers reportedly will get a specially branded “rolling tray,” Kharasch says.

“I don’t know that that means, but I hear that’s important in the world of marijuana,” he said.
