Thursday's WCCO Radio Cure Blood Cancer Radio Auction is hitting especially close to home for Jordana Green.

In remission from leukemia for a few years, WCCO's cohost of Adam And Jordana received the shocking news in 2022 that her cancer was back and the only life-saving option was a stem cell - or bone marrow - transplant.

Little did she know she'd be meeting her donor live on the radio.

"I am a nervous wreck," said Jordana who was on the air with Carter.

Her donor, 27-year old Matt Dubinski from Long Island, New York and flew with his family to the Twin Cities for the meeting and auction Thursday.

Dubinski told Jordana that we have a shared humanity to help one another when possible.

"It feels like I did something bigger than myself, and it's humbling," says Dubinski.

Jordana and Matt had texted previously, but had never met face to face. Both had their families in-studio for the meeting, and they are spending the day together in Minneapolis.

You can see more of Jordana and Matt's first face-to-face meeting on WCCO's Instagram page.

This year’s Cure Blood Cancer Radio Auction, hosted by News Talk 830 WCCO to benefit NMDP(formerly Be The Match and the National Marrow Donor Program) is raising thousands of dollars to make donations like the one Dubenski made to Jordana possible, and to fund research to cure leukemia.

Two years ago this month, Jordana received a blood stem cell transplant to treat her leukemia, which was all facilitated by NMDP. She celebrates her second transplant anniversary the same week as the auction.
