It is day two of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearings into President Trump’s pick to fill Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s vacant seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Judge Amy Coney Barrett faced a round of tough questioning at her confirmation hearing.

Louisiana Senator John Kennedy is on the Judiciary Committee.
After a line of questions from senate democrats, Senator Kennedy took to FOX News to voice his opinion. In an interview he spoke out on how he feels the democratic senators are treated Barrett during yesterday’s hearing.

“They are very well versed in the stuff they make up, and they made up a lot yesterday,” said Kennedy. “To hear yesterday that Judge Barrett is on a ‘mission from God’ to single handedly deny health insurance to all Americans, and that is preposterous, put down the ball!”

He adds, “Americans don’t believe that, my colleagues think Americans are morons I think most Americans see right through this.”

Judge Barrett highlighted the attacks on her and her family in her answer when Senate Judiciary Chair Lindsey Graham asked: “How's it feel to be nominated for the Supreme Court of the United States?”

“I don’t think it’s any secret to any of you, or to the American people, that this is a really difficult — some might say excruciating — process,” Barrett said. “Jesse and I had a very brief amount of time to make a decision with momentous consequences for our family. We knew that our lives would be combed over for any negative detail. We knew that our faith would be caricatured. We knew our family would be attacked. And so we had to decide whether those difficulties would be worth it because what sane person would go through that if there wasn’t a benefit on the other side?”

Barrett will face more question from both Democratic and Republican senators before they vote to on Thursday to move her nomination to the Senate floor for a final vote.
