The Lake Superior Twitter account has recently gained some attention, not because something is going on with the lake but because the lake is sharing its support for safe and legal abortions.
The Twitter account first shared its support for the pro-choice movement following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade last week.
“This lake vehemently stands with women having the right to choose,” the lake said in a tweet.
But the story doesn’t end there, as the account has now become a target for pro-life supporters, and it isn’t just taking shots but firing them back.
Oddly enough, several users who disagree with the opinion have admitted that they were not taught proper manners growing up, responding to the tweet with stories of peeing in the largest body of freshwater in the U.S.
Others called out the account for politicizing the lake, to which it responded that water was, in fact, the most politicized resource in the world. It also took shots at numerous others who attempted to bash its beliefs.
The tweet has garnered responses from several politicians, celebrities, and even other lakes. Even Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has shared her support for the lake and the Twitter account.
Overall the tweet has 11,000 retweets and almost 100,000 likes, with even more responses either standing with the lake or admitting to having gone to the bathroom in it.
