GARLAND (1080 KRLD)- A man accused of shooting and killing a Garland Lyft driver and firing at people inside Plano police headquarters, may have been inspired by terrorists.
During a joint press conference with the FBI, Garland PD and Plano PD, it was revealed that Irman Ali Rasheed, 32, died after Plano police officers returned fire Sunday.
Rasheed is accused of killing Isabella Ann Lewis, 26, a Lyft driver, before stealing her car and driving to Plano police headquarters.
Rasheed left a note in the vehicle that led them to believe his actions may have been inspired by terrorists overseas. He did not appear to be acting in coordination with any group.
FBI officials said Rasheed was investigated in 2010-2013 for terrorist ties, but ultimately cleared.
