Police shared that a Charleston man, who was attempting to flee from officers on foot in West Virginia, was killed on Saturday when his own vehicle ran him over.
According to the West Virginia State Police, 30-year-old James McGraw fled officers who had attempted to stop him after they say he was seen driving erratically in Huntington, WOWK reported.
After a vehicle pursuit, McGraw exited his car in an effort to flee officers by foot.
However, police say he did not shift his car into park as he exited, and while attempting to run away, it rolled on top of him and killed him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into his death remains ongoing, police shared.
