Man named Kovid is making headlines because of the virus

In February, 2020, an Indian man began receiving an overwhelming number of texts from friends and family. The reason? His name is Kovid.

Kovid Kapoor owns an online travel agency. Since the start of the pandemic, he has been contacted by news outlets who want to hear about his coincidental moniker. He says it's all been a good laugh so far.

Kovid means "scholar" in Hindi. Kapoor has done multiple interviews explaining what it's like living with the unfortunate name. He even has a blog of various times it's been referenced.
