While fans of the famous “Snack Wrap” have been pleading with McDonald’s to return the item to its menu for some time, there has been no word about a potential comeback. However, fans wanting to satisfy their cravings will soon be able to do so, but not at the golden arches.

Starting on Tuesday, the fast-food chain Wendy’s will begin offering a new menu item, which shares some similarities with the fan-favorite from McDonald’s, a grilled chicken ranch wrap, the company shared in a press release

“There are many who’ve tried to master the grilled chicken wrap, but we’re not snacking around with our offering,” John Li, Vice President of Culinary Innovation for The Wendy’s Company, said in the release. “From our classic creamy Ranch sauce to the warm wrap folded perfectly for people on the move, our team built a wrap that's worthy of the entrée menu.”

Wendy’s announced it will begin offering its new wrap, priced at $6.29, next week. The wrap comes with sliced grilled chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, and ranch sauce in a warm tortilla.

The new Wendy’s wrap is an exact copy of the former McDonald’s item, and the company shared that this is on purpose, as it didn’t want to create a “McBland snack wrap dupe.”

Carle Loredo, the global chief marketing officer for Wendy’s, spoke with CNN about the new item, saying the wrap is meant to be unique and better than their competitors.

Loredo shared that the wrap isn’t a snack but a meal, as the chain looks to have the same “freshness” customers see in Wendy’s salads, only “wrapped up in a portable offering.”

The move from Wendy’s is a Master Class example of a company filling a need in the market, as fans have been adamant McDonald’s bring back the snack wraps after they were cut in 2016 due to them being too complicated to make.

So far, a petition on Change.org has 17,000 signatures demanding the items be brought back, as well as a continued outcry for their return on social media. McDonald’s social media accounts even joked about the items while referring to the difficulty to buy Taylor Swift tickets last November.

Other chains to feature their own chicken wraps include KFC and Chick-Fil-A, though Wedny’s appears to be a direct challenge to its larger rival.
