LONEDELL, Mo. (KMOX) - Typically, a police officer is the one responding to help someone if their car breaks down on the side of the road. But this time, the roles were reversed and a Missouri cop couldn't believe the support he received.

Deputy Burgess of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office in Missouri says he was overwhelmed by the more than 30 vehicles of random strangers who stopped to check on him after his patrol vehicle overheated. According to police, his vehicle had a "mechanical failure" and he was stuck waiting for a tow truck.
"I’m out in the middle of nowhere and that many people stopped! And it was from people of all ages too," Burgess says. "I greatly appreciate all those who stopped to check on me. I was humbled by the outpouring of concern from the public for my safety and well being! Words cannot express how much this meant to me for them to take the time out of their day to check on me."
He was in Lonedell, Missouri when it happened.
Police also thanks the community for "their concern, support, and dedication to our deputies!"
