An Oklahoma peeping Tom will regret brazenly attempting a closer look at his teen victim. Authorities say the girl’s mother attacked the offender with a baseball bat.
Corey McMichael, 46, was taken into custody by Del City police after a trip to emergency room, where doctors say he confirmed he was struck “several times” with a bat as he tried to climb into the window of a girl’s bedroom, according to the incident report.
The girl’s mother, who has not been identified, told police she heard someone trying to open the front door of her apartment. When the commotion ceased, she says she went to her vehicle and obtained a baseball bat.
Then, she discovered McMichael trying to climb through her daughter’s bedroom window with his pants down.
“He had his clothes off,” she said on the 911 call she made after she fended off the intruder. “He had a trench coat on, and he’s on the side of my building. He was trying to come through my daughter’s window, too.”
McMichael confirmed this account to emergency room doctors, saying, “That b**ch hit me with a bat for trying to get in a window.”
Del City Police Captain Bradley Rule said McMichael got an up-close look at “a pretty good example of Momma Bear.”
“She saw someone looking in her daughter's window and jumped into action,” Rule said. “After striking him several times, he fell to the ground away from the window… She was well within her rights to protect her daughter.”
After being treated at the hospital for bumps, bruises and a broken wrist, McMichael was booked on one count of peeping Tom, one count of indecent exposure and burglary in the first degree.
