Roughly 18 months into the global COVID-19 pandemic, most Americans believe the worst is yet to come.
A Pew Research Center poll released Wednesday revealed 54% of adults in the U.S. feel the outbreak has not peaked, with the worst of it still ahead of us.
Researchers surveyed 10,348 adults at the end of August.
Around 73% of respondents said they had received at least one injection of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Roughly a quarter of those questioned said they had not been vaccinated at all.
Despite the shot being free in the U.S., the uninsured were less likely to have received the shot.
About 57% of evangelical, white Protestants said they were not vaccinated, as did 60% of Republican-leaning voters.
Black Americans were on par with white vaccinated residents, 70% and 72%, respectively.
