A situation involving Texas Senator Ted Cruz and a missed check-in for a flight escalated at a Montana airport Sunday until law enforcement had to step in, according to The Daily Mail.

Cruz was shown in a video posted to Reddit arguing with two United Airlines representatives after he missed the check-in window. Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport confirmed that a law enforcement officer had to intervene.

“One of our Public Safety Officers (PSO) was in the ticket lobby and was asked to assist with a frustrated passenger at the United ticket counter (which is not unusual),” Humphrey told The Daily Mail. “The passenger had missed the check-in window for his flight and re-booking options were limited out of Bozeman due to Spring Break.

“Our PSO didn't realize he was dealing with Senator Cruz until after the fact,” he added, relaying that Cruz was eventually booked onto another flight that evening.

Cruz was back in Washington, D.C., by the time the Supreme Court confirmation hearings for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson got underway, according to Business Insider.
