Police in Ohio are looking for a man who cashed in some fake currency and got back some very real legal tender.
An unidentified man used children’s play money totaling 100 pretend dollars to make change in real cash by purchasing cigarettes and a lottery ticket.
To cap off the heist, the lottery ticket was a lucky one, winning $100 according to the Boardman Police department.
The “money” the man used to make the purchases were very clearly labeled “United States Play Money.”
The police did not offer an explanation as to why the cashier at the Giant Eagle grocery store where the theft occurred didn’t notice the bills were fake.
