Part of Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport in Broward County, Fla. was evacuated Saturday for a security investigation, the airport announced in a tweet Saturday morning.

According to tweets posted around 9:30 a.m., areas of Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 were evacuated as precaution. Traffic along the airport’s upper level roadway near Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 was impacted by the investigation.

“If you're heading to the airport, we ask for your patience as we work to resolve this matter,” said the airport.

According to Boca News Now, travel rates are high at the airport and Terminal 2 serves Delta Airlines. The outlet said it is not immediately clear what the security investigation is about.

Around 11:46 a.m., the Broward County Sherriff announced in a tweet that deputies were notified of a bomb threat, which was the reason for evacuating people from the terminals. Additionally, they suspended entry into the airport and at one point closed its lower level roadway.

By around 12:30 p.m., authorities had cleared the scene and the airport began reopening the terminals and returning to normal operations.
