Despite having officially retired from the pro wrestling ring three years ago, one of the industry’s most imposing figures ever proved recently that his towering presence can still turn away even the fiercest threats. And Mother Nature is apparently not immune.
During a 30-year run with WWE, the wrestling icon known as The Undertaker was known for a dour demeanor and a fearsome resume, and during an in-ring television appearance back in February, the nearly 7-feet-tall 58-year-old born Mark Calaway lit his longtime fans up with a chokeslam to current star L.A. Knight.
And now, in a series of social media posts that have gone viral, the wrestler nicknamed “The Deadman” has even been seen turning away sharks with just a steely glare.
The incident was caught on camera by Undertaker’s wife Michelle McCool, herself a former WWE superstar.
“I was simply enjoying a book on the beach when this “vegetation” looked a lot like a shark,” McCool wrote on Twitter. “[S]o I text hubby @undertaker ??kinda digging that last picture …A LOT?#myprotector”
Since his retirement, the notoriously private Undertaker has been noticeably more public, even giving fans behind-the-scenes stories of his three decades in the WWE spotlight in various interviews.
