Two suspected shoplifters are behind bars in Colorado, where they're accused of stealing more than $200,000 worth of merchandise from grocery stores.
The unidentified man and woman were arrested Monday at a King Soopers store in Wheat Ridge, just west of west of Denver, after employees recognized them from previous incidents.
Police said officers were surprised at just how much the "frequent and wanted shoplifting suspects" had in their carts.
"We contacted them inside the store and found they had two carts full of nearly $10,000 worth of merchandise," Wheat Ridge Police said in a statement.
While police didn't indicate what kind of items the couple was attempting to steal, an image from a body camera posted by the department appears to show multiple bottles of vitamins and face creams, among other things.
After taking the pair into custody, investigators realized they matched the description of a couple who has been ripping off several King Soopers stores in the area, police said.
So far, the suspects have been linked to thefts totaling at least $200,000, according to police.
"Our detectives are in contact with other jurisdictions to determine if this pair are suspects in any other similar thefts of connected to any organized retail theft rings," police said.
According to CBS News, the suspects are identified only as a 33-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, both from Denver.
