New polling has found that more people see former President Donald Trump as electable after the release of his mug shot last week in Fulton County, Georgia.

The poll comes from Morning Consult and found that 62% of potential Republican primary voters think Trump has the best chance of any Republican to beat the incumbent, President Joe Biden.

That number is up nine percentage points from Morning Consult’s previous poll and falls in line with similar sentiments seen in other polls.

New polling from the Economist/YouGov found that a majority of Republicans still supported the former president as the GOP front-runner despite his absence from the first GOP debate.

Trump’s ongoing legal troubles, which now include the likes of four indictments, have also continued to boost support for the former president among Republicans.

The polls show that the former president has two main challengers for the GOP nominee, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

According to the Morning Consult poll, respondents said DeSantis (13%) had the second-best choice for defeating Biden, followed by Ramaswamy (6%), but both remained far behind Trump.

When it comes to Trump’s biggest opponent across the aisle, a recent poll from the Associated Press highlighted how Americans feel about Biden’s most crippling quality: his age.

The AP-NORC poll also highlighted that age is a big issue for voters, with 77% of Americans, including 89% of Republicans and 69% of Democrats, saying he was too old to serve another term effectively.

When it comes to Trump, the AP poll found that his age wasn’t as big an issue for respondents as his legal challenges, with 53% of adults saying they approve of the federal indictment charging him for trying to overturn the 2020 election.

Nonetheless, when it comes to Biden and Trump facing off in a hypothetical rematch, the YouGov poll found that Trump narrowly beat out Biden 44% to 43%, with the remaining 3% saying they don’t know who they would pick between the two.
