Twitter issued a temporary ban for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) Monday for posting information the company said violates its policies on Covid misinformation.
The social media site suspended Green from logging in or posting for 12 hours after she shared false information about the coronavirus, a company spokesperson confirmed.

“We took enforcement action on the account @mtgreenee for violations of the Twitter Rules, specifically the Covid-19 misleading information policy,” a Twitter spokesman said, citing its policy.
Twitter labeled two of Greene’s posts in the last day as “misleading.”
Sunday night, Greene insisted the federal government refocus on fighting obesity to protect from Covid complications.
Monday morning, she claimed thousands had died from getting the vaccine and that the virus was “not dangerous” for people under 65-years old who are “non-obese.”
Greene has argued against wearing masks and getting vaccines as ways to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. However, with the Delta variant skyrocketing nationwide, Greene’s home state of Georgia has seen a nearly 200% increase in cases in the last two weeks.
Last week, President Biden criticized social media sites, accusing them of “killing people” by allowing Covid misinformation to propagate on their websites.
