In a video that has gone viral on social media, a doorbell camera at a house along the Boston Marathon route captured a runner venturing into the homeowner’s yard and popping a squat to evacuate his bowels mid-race.
The video was originally posted to a Boston subreddit by a redditor who claimed to be the homeowner. After the video was removed by moderators, it was reuploaded to social media, this time on Twitter.
The twitter post is closing in on 300,000 views.
In the clip, the unidentified runner is seen in a corner of the yard squatting down and defecating near some tall bushes. Racers can be seen in the background running past and spectators are also visible cheering along the route.
The runner is interrupted at one point by a man who walks into the yard and has an exchange.
Eventually, the runner stands, pulls up his shorts, and slips through the trees to rejoin the race.
While reaction has been mixed in the comments responding to the tweet, the original poster was not amused and did not appear to empathize with the runner’s poo predicament.
“I have no idea how it can be defended lol,” they wrote on the Boston subreddit. “I will be filing a report with the [Boston Athletic Association].”
