The daytime political talk show “The View” took a break mid-show on Monday while the audience broke out into applause after hearing that Fox News and Tucker Carlson were parting ways.

Actress and co-host Whoopi Goldberg shared the news with the live audience and even broke into a “wave” with her other co-hosts.

“Word has just come down that Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” Goldberg said to applause.

Fox News broke the news on Monday morning, noting that Carlson’s last show on the network was Friday, April 21.

“I don’t think anyone likes to celebrate the demise of someone’s career,” co-host Sunny Hostin said. “But he is responsible for the degradation that we see, somewhat, of our democracy in this country.”

Another of the show’s co-hosts, Ana Navarro, started singing a short rendition of the song “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” with the crowd.

Co-host Alyssa Farrah-Griffin, who once served as the White House communications director under former President Donald Trump, shared her opinion on Carlson and one of his most common talking points.

“He’s been the biggest purveyor of pro-Russia talking points,” Farrah-Griffin said. “So it’s a good day for the Ukrainian people.”

Carlson and Fox “mutually agreed” to split, unlike another longtime news anchor for the media company’s competitor, Don Lemon.

Hours after the Fox breakup was shared, the longtime CNN host shared that he had been fired from CNN. The members of The View did not have the same mini-celebration for the news of Lemon’s firing.
