The sky above the Big Easy will be lit up with an explosive light show to help ring in the new year, courtesy of the Crescent City Countdown Club.
The CCCC will put on a free fireworks show above the Mississippi River that can be seen from both the East and West Banks of the city from the Outlet Collection at Riverwalk to Crescent Park at the French Market.
A CCCC press release describes the upcoming show as “an intense barrage of fireworks in every color of the rainbow, including the team colors of the Allstate Sugar Bowl contenders, the Ole Miss Rebels and the Baylor Bears” that “will burst from heights of 100 feet to 800 feet.”
Sponsors for this year’s show include New Orleans & Company, the Allstate Sugar Bowl, The Berger & Tiller Families, Bourbon Street Drinkery, J&M Displays, and French Quarter Festivals, Inc., among others.
The CCCC describes itself as “a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization officially formed in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina exclusively to preserve and produce New Orleans’ traditional New Year’s Eve festivities in the French Quarter.”
