DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys are expected to name tight end coach Doug Nussmeier as the new quarterbacks coach, after parting ways with Jon Kitna on Saturday.
The move was first reported by ESPN's Todd Archer.

— Todd Archer (@toddarcher) January 12, 2020Nussmeier, who spent the first 16 years of his coaching career as a quarterbacks coach at the college level before joining the Cowboys to coach tight ends in 2018, was a logical option after Kitna's departure from the franchise.
Nussmeier is also expected to be just the second member of the Cowboys coaching staff to be retained after the end of Jason Garrett's tenure in Dallas, with the other being Kellen Moore as the offensive coordinator.
Nussmeier also spent nearly 10 seasons as an offensive coordinator at the college level alongside his quarterback coaching duties, including stops at Fresno State, Washington, Michigan, Florida, and Alabama, where he helped the Crimson Tide win a national title in 2012-13 with A.J. McCarron under center.
