New Orleans Police have issued a warrant for two men they say kidnapped a woman from Slidell and killed her.
A squatter found the body of 25-year-old Brooke Buchler at the Navy Support Activity complex in August.
Cops say the men abducted Buchler and a man from a Slidell apartment on Fifth Street.
The 27-year-old man was found a short time after the kidnapping.
"In the early morning hours of Thursday, August 20th, a man was found severely injured in a remote area off Bayou Paquet Road, located in the unincorporated Slidell area. The man was stabbed and beaten to near death," Slidell Police Department Public Information Officer Daniel Seuzeneau said.
He says 27-year-old Dylan Craddock and 32-year-old Cody Matthews severely beat and stabbed the victim at the Fifth Street apartment, then took him to a remote area to dispose of his body. However, the victim survived and was able to seek help.
Four days later, Seuzeneau says, cops found Buchler's body.
"On Sunday, August 24th, New Orleans Police contacted Slidell Police and stated they located Brooke Buchler deceased inside the abandoned Naval Support Activity complex in New Orleans."
Today NOPD says they have issued arrest warrants for Craddock and Matthews.
"Both will face charges of second-degree murder," according to a news release. "Craddock and Matthews are currently incarcerated in St. Tammany Parish jail for charges pending in that jurisdiction."
