PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - For the past 13 straight springs, there has been playoff hockey in Pittsburgh but this year it ends and not because the Penguins wouldn’t have made the playoffs.
The coronavirus pandemic has put a halt on all sports including the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Penguins were considered one of the better teams in the east before play was stopped last month.
And while it’s not known if an when the playoffs will begin, the Penguins are reminding everyone in Pittsburgh to remain strong.
The team posted a video on Monday in support of Pittsburgh and healthcare workers.
“While there may not be hockey this spring, we are all engaged with the playoff intensity to win this battle,” Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan said.
Sullivan narrated the minute long video that ends with a shot of the city and the words #togetherapart.
