Two police activities in the French Quarter hade streets off limits this morning.
There was a standoff with an individual on Dauphine Street.
"Officers are on the scene of a barricaded subject in the 500 block of Dauphine Street," Public Information Officer Aaron Looney said in an email.
Meanwhile, cops were investigating an unattended package at Saint Ann and Decatur streets.
"The perimeter for this Investigation is Decatur St. between Wilkerson Row and Dumaine St. and Decatur Street to the rear of St. Louis Cathederal."
He later said it was a false alarm, "Update: The suspicious device on bomb threat scene was secured and no explosive was found. The scene is secure and all traffic has returned to normal."
Looney stresses that the two incidents have nothing to do with each other.
"These incidents are not believed to be related."
