On a night that both candidates for vice president were on display and under pressure to deliver a win for their respective campaigns in a nationally-televised debate, it was a house fly that stole the show.

Yes, you read that correctly.

If you missed it, the moment burning up social media came when California Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence were answering a question about Breonna Taylor, the young woman controversially killed when Louisville Police served a warrant at her home in March.

The fly stayed on the vice president’s head for just over two minutes.

Its 15 minutes of fame didn’t end there. Twitter made sure of that.

Even Joe Biden got in on the fun.

The Biden campaign, which famously turned out "Will you shut-up, man" t-shirts following the contentious first presidential debate, jumped on the fervor with a "Truth Over Flies" fly swatter.

The fly has even inspired several spin-off Twitter accounts, one of which already has over 62,000 followers and counting.
