UNO poll has Edwards, Cassidy, Kennedy approval in the 30s

UNO Poll
UNO

A new survey from UNO pollster Ed Chervenak has Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards' approval at 38%, with US Senators John Kennedy and Bill Cassidy at 36% and 31% respectively.

34% of respondents disapproved of Edwards’ performance, while another 28% say they don’t know. Edwards’ biggest struggles come from younger voters, with only about a quarter of those 18-44 approving of tenure, and Republicans, only 20% of whom back him. 60% of Democrats and 55% of Blacks approve of the Governor.

John Kennedy is the more popular of the state’s two US Senators with 31% disapproving and 33% saying they don’t know. His profile of support has some similarity to Cassidy’s but diverges in key places like women, who have a 9% higher approval for Kennedy than Cassidy. Support from men between the two is about the same.

One interesting note about Cassidy’s approval; more Democrats support the Republican US Senator than Republicans do. Cassidy has 39% approval from state Dems compared to 28% support from state Republicans.
