The U.S.-China trade agreement is starting to shift the direction of global crude flows. U.S. oil sales to China are quickly ramping up, forcing Mideast producers to look for new markets or hold on to their crude in an already oversupplied world. The U.S. share of China’s crude imports has grown sharply and volumes are expected to reach as much as 700,000 barrels a day at the end of October.
Amazon is acquiring a site in Lafayette for a proposed fulfillment center. A Lafayette fulfillment center could serve all of the western side of Louisiana from Morgan City to Shreveport. It’s not clear if Amazon is interested in this property because a similar proposal in Baton Rouge fell through.
New Orleans has been voted the fourth best city in the U.S.
by readers of Conde Nast Traveler. Chicago took the top spot for the fourth year in a row, followed by Washington and Boston.
