As the New Orleans Saints struggle to compete with the better competition in the NFL, WWL NFL Analyst Mike Detillier says the team has to find the quarterback of the future.
"You better go out and find yourself a young quarterback," Detillier told WWL's Tommy Tucker. "Nothing kinda puts the jumper cables on a franchise than having a talented, young quarterback."
He says Derek Carr will get one more season to try and turn things around.
"You ain't getting rid of him, because of the money commitment that you made," Detillier explained. "He's gonna be here in 2024... but you better bring you in a young quarterback, quickly."
He says Carr has proven that he is who he is, regardless of the uniform he wears.
"You are gonna ride the roller coaster with him... and what's happened here, there have been more down moments than up."
Detillier wants to see the Saints go after a new QB in the draft or free agency.
The Saints (7-8) have two games left, and must win them both... and get help... to make the playoffs.
