The NFL's 2024 season is now underway, and the Saints get in on the action this Sunday starting at noon at the Superdome, when they take on the Carolina Panthers.

Will the Saints show fans an improved offense under new coordinator Klint Kubiak? The betting public does not seem to expect much from the 2024 Saints.

Oddsmaker Raphael Esparza says the odds still favor Atlanta winning the division, followed by Tampa Bay, then New Orleans, and Carolina expected to finish fourth. But the opening week, he says, may tell us a lot.

Handicappers expect the Saints to win fewer than eight games.

"This is going to be a big week, Atlanta and Pittsburgh," Esparza said. "No one's really talking about that game so I think we're going to find out what team Atlanta is."

New Orleans is favored by four at home versus Carolina, but oddsmakers expect a low-scoring affair.

"They're playing the Carolina Panthers this week, at home in the Superdome, the newly-renovated Superdome, and the total is only 41½," said Espraza. "If that offense is supposed to be 'much-improved,' I think we'd see a higher total."

Meanwhile, the odds-on favorite for the first head coach to get fired? The Saints' Dennis Allen.
