Are you a gentleman? Do post-Women’s Lib women care about gentlemen opening doors and pulling chairs out for them? Do younger generations of females want men to be gentlemen? If you let a woman walk up the stairs ahead of you does she think you’re staring at her butt?
Those are a few of the questions we talked about during a discussion on the show today about being a gentleman. Joining me in the studio were Jonee Daigle, publisher of “Inside New Orleans Magazine,” and Bobby Asaro, owner of the popular wedding and party venue Southern Oaks - and one of the New Orleans men selected as a gentleman by the magazine.
During the discussion, we talked about what it takes to be a gentleman and is being a gentleman a learned behavior that has passed down through generations? Also, what about women who like the “bad boys?” Can you be a gentleman while maintaining somewhat of a “bad boy” image? When I stand up as my date walks back to the table from the restroom I honestly feel like a nerd, but I know that is the gentlemanly thing to do.
