"You don't have to cave, you don't have to apologize if you did nothing wrong," rock icon Dee Snider said about those who retreat after receiving backlash from the cancel culture movement.

In an interview with Fox Digital News, Snider broke from talking about his new book, “Frats," a novel based on his life and the things that have made him an outspoken activist, to chime in on our current cultural moment. The Twisted Sister frontman with the wild blonde curls talked about resisting the temptation to change or apologize for something that you believe in following criticism from the cancel culture groups.

Snider criticized Paul Stanley of KISS after Stanley apologized for his position opposing gender-affirming care for minors.  After backlash from the extreme left, Stanley apologized.  Snider expressed the same opinion but refused to apologize because he believed in what he stood for.

This conversation led to an explosion of calls and texts - many reacting to the idea that the cancel culture movement is righteous and important to guide Americans in the right direction.

Standing up for what you believe in is not just liberals standing up to conservatives - it's also about liberals standing up to liberals, or conservatives standing up to conservatives.

Bud Light has suffered a tremendous loss in sales, and I think the severity of the loss is because Bud Light showed weakness, and apologized for partnering with a trans influencer. Bud Light was attempting to reach the trans community and apologized for it.  That sign of weakness gave the angry mob the confidence that they were manifesting change and standing up for something they believed in.  The anti-Bud Light mob grew because when it appeared Bud Light was caving to the backlash - others jumped on the boycott train to gain a sense that they had the power to change a company.

I believe if companies and individuals show conviction over what they believe is right and refuse to bend and apologize when they believe they have done nothing wrong, fewer cancel culture attacks will be successful and any boycott will be shallow and quickly overcome.
