Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopintio says his department is investigating a fatal hit and run crash that killed a bicyclist early Monday morning.
“At around 3:00 am, a male bicyclist was traveling in the roadway in the 2200 block of Veterans Memorial Blvd,” Lopinto said in a press release. “He was struck from behind by a vehicle, which fled the scene. Within minutes, a passerby arrived on the scene and called 911. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.”
