COVID-19 patients reported by the Louisiana Department of Health today increased 89, to 1,689. That is the most since April 27, when the state was still under a stay-at-home order.
Confirmed COVID-19 deaths hit 7,034 today. The state reports an additional 363 probable deaths, bringing the total to 7,397.
Total cases are up 3,946, on 37,356 total new tests. The total number of cases is no 304,485, with 277,887 of those cases confirmed.
37,969 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccines. The first Pfizer vaccines were administered in Louisiana December 14, so the earliest anyone could receive a follow-up shot is January 4.
