If you missed out on the deals that swamped Black Friday and Cyber Monday, let it be known there are still plenty of deals to be had between now and Christmas.
That's according to Dan Rice, an associate professor of marketing at LSU and a retail expert, says some shoppers will "panic, but I don't think you really have to do that."
He says, "At this stage, I think what they should be doing is looking for specifically what they're intending to buy and then search around for who is still going to provide the best price. Just because Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over doesn't mean there aren't deals to be had."
Rice says knowing what you're going after in your effort to buy what you still want to buy for Christmas is key, and then doing such things as Google searches to find the best prices.
He says, "Online comparisons can be pretty quick and easy. And, there are still deals that will pop up here and there that don't have to be labeled Black Friday or Cyber Monday to get you a good price."
Rice says, depending on who you listen to, online sales are outpacing offline sales.
He says, "Growth was somewhere in the neighborhood of eight to nine percent for online sales." Offline sales growth in stores was in the ballpark of one to two and a half percent.
Rice says when it comes to sale type items they may be of items that retailers overbought "in certain categories and realize that if they don't get some of this stuff out of their stores they may have a lot of stock that's more difficult to get rid of after Christmas."
He says know this, don't panic if you haven't finished your shopping and, "Realize there's always another sale."
