Gov. Edwards extends Louisiana's indoor mask mandate to Sept. 29

With the state’s COVID-19-related mask mandate slated to expire today, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards extended the indoor mask mandate for public spaces in the state until September 29.

The mandate means anyone over the age of five must wear a mask in any indoor public space, including schools, churches and businesses.


Edwards made the announcement at a news conference related to Hurricane Ida relief efforts.
