State highway crews have cleared debris from all interstate highways in Louisiana. But even though they are driveable now, state officials are telling people to stay off them as much as possible, to keep the roads clear for emergency responders.
"We still urge motorists to keep the interstates clear for emergency responders, as undue traveling could potentially burden emergency services," DoTD Secretary Shawn Wilson told The Advocate.
While some evacuees are returning to check on their properties, others who stayed through the storm are now evacuating to find somewhere to stay that has electricity.
