As Louisiana resumes the count of new coronavirus cases after a one-day layoff, the new cases amount to 4,462 or an average of 2,231 a day.
In all 268,613 cases in Louisiana have been recorded.
The state reports 51 new deaths from COVID-19 for a total of 6,818.
The new numbers were culled from 59,542 new tests with nearly four million tests having been administered.
