COVID-19 hospitalizations in Louisiana have dropped to 271, statewide. That is significant, because it is the same number of COVID hospitalizations reported as far back as records go on the Louisiana Dept. of Health web site: March 24, 2020, in the early days of the pandemic.
LDH reports hospitalizations over the weekend got as low as 269 before rising slightly in today's report.
Today's number reflects 23 fewer hospitalized COVID-19 patients since Friday.
The state reports 577 new cases over the weekend, on 18,606 new tests. That is about 3.1 percent positive.
Thirteen more Louisiana residents have died from COVID-19 since Friday.
