The Louisiana Department of Health today reports 139 new COVID-19 deaths. That is the highest single-day report since the pandemic began in March 2020.
There are 2,856 people hospitalized in Louisiana for COVID-19, with 480 of them on mechanical ventilators. That is the most since early April, 2020.
The state reports 3,814 new cases.
