The Sunday COVID count for Louisiana comes close to 1,000 new cases of coronavirus in the state for both Friday and Saturday.
If split evenly the 928 cases would reflect significant drop in numbers over Friday, which is good news.
It's hoped the one day bump reflects the expected Labor Day jump in numbers from two weeks ago.
Also good news is the hospitalization count: down 51 with people on ventilators decreasing by 4.
