With 161,792 presumed recoveries from the COVID-19 coronavirus, the Louisiana Department of Health's data on the pandemic suggest a decrease in active cases in the state.
The number of presumed recoveries is up 3,919 from last week's update. With 173,121 total confirmed cases, and 5,495 deaths, it leaves 5,834 possible active infections. That's a decrease of 979 from last week's estimate.
Total cases increased 331 in today's report, and deaths are up nine from yesterday.
COVID-19 hospitalizations are up nine, at 582.
