Single-day record of new cases of COVID-19 in Louisiana

The Louisiana Department of Health reported 6,882 new cases of coronavirus today, on 36,873 new tests. It's the most new cases reported in a single day since the pandemic began.

The state is also reporting 1,993 hospitalized patients, more than the peak of 1,991 that the LDH web site shows on April 12.

In all, there are 333,524 total cases since the pandemic began. Another 46 deaths brings Louisiana total COVID-19 mortality to 7,681.

The state reports 280,373 presumed recoveries. A person is presumed recovered if it has been 14 days since they tested positive and are not hospitalized or deceased, or 21 days if not deceased and hospital status is unknown.
