Louisianans with a medical marijuana prescription could soon be able to legally light up a joint under a bill the state senate approved this week.
House Bill 391 by Rep. Tanner Magee (R-Houma) would allow medical marijuana to be dispensed in "raw or crude form," with limits on amounts.
The senate added a technical amendment regarding an exception to pharmaceutical grade marijuana for the smokable version.
If state house members approve, the bill would then go to Gov. John Bel Edwards' desk.
