Another 139 additional hospitalizations brings the number of people hospitalized statewide for COVID-19 to 2,859. Since setting a new record one week ago today, hospitalizations have gone up every day since. The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients has increased ever day since July 2.
The state reports another 6,088 new cases today, and 93 more COVID-19 patients have died.
The Louisiana Department of Health says the unvaccinated account for 90 percent of cases, 91 percent of hospitalizations, and 84 percent of COVID deaths.
