The Louisiana Department of Health reported only 63 new coronavirus cases today, but LDH says that's largely due to "technology issues" that reflect "limited results."
"This morning LDH determined that the automated routines to receive and process laboratory results did not function as expected, and had to be restarted," the department said in a statement. "Lab result collection had to be abbreviated to allow time for deduplication and data quality checks."
The department said any remaining tests and cases that would have been received today will be included in tomorrow's update.
The 63 new cases brings the state's total to 172,119.
Fourteen more COVID-19 deaths brings the state's total fatalities to 5,476.
Hospitalizations increased 14, to 577.
