The rough seas from Tropical Storm Beta's winds forced a commercial boat to start taking on water Sunday near Lake Borgne.
"The Coast Guard rescued two mariners," officials said in a news release. "A Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter aircrew hoisted both mariners to safety."
The Coast Guard says the two people were on a fishing vessel.
"Watchstanders received a report of two people aboard the disabled 48-foot shrimp boat Sau Nguyen taking on water due to inclement weather."
The helicopter crew safely hoisted the two mariners from the disabled vessel and transported them to Lakefront Airport in New Orleans with no reported injuries.
