Just before 10am this morning a Coastal Flood Warning was posted for the following areas: St. John the Baptist, St. Charles, Upper Jefferson, Orleans, Upper St. Bernard, Lower Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard Parishes.

This warning is in effect until Noon Monday.


Moderate coastal flooding with around 3 feet of inundation expected.

The flood zone is the immediate south shore of Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Borgne as well as the east facing shores of St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes.

Moderate coastal flooding will be possible through the high tide cycle Monday, with minor coastal flooding persisting through at least early Wednesday morning.

Low lying coastal roads may become impassible and a few areas could be cut off. A few low lying properties may be inundated.

Residents living outside the Hurricane Levee Protection System are urged to take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.

If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
