Cold air blowing into Southeast Louisiana, some frost by Saturday

Cold
NWS

After record and near-record heat the several weeks, we see much colder conditions on the way.

"It is noticeably cooler and less humid," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone noted. "The stronger cold front is moving through Louisiana."

After starting today in the 50s and 60s, some areas may not make it to 70 today.

"Wind gusts near 20-30 can be expected," Malone forecasts. "Thursday morning will be coat weather as temperatures drop into the 40s and low 50s, but with a breeze it'll feel like the 30s for most."

He says by Saturday, parts of the Northshore will be in the 30s.

"Patchy frost is possible Saturday morning north of I-12."
